Rain Dog Records

Rain Dog Records is an independent record store located in Petaluma, California. Partners Gabriel Hernandez, Jon Del Buono and James Florence founded the business in February of 2021.

Prior to the COVID-19 pandemic, the three had played together in the band Partial Cell. After the lockdown halted the band’s momentum, they began talking about selling records as a fun way to make some extra cash.

Their initial idea was to do pop-up shops and sell records off the back of Jon’s pick-up truck. Unexpectedly, this small-time sideline became something much bigger when they were presented with an opportunity to purchase a local record shop.

Naturally, they jumped at it, and after two months of setup and remodeling, the store reopened as Rain Dog Records. Today, we are proud to provide a quality selection of new and used vinyl records, CDs and cassettes to residents of Sonoma County, the Bay Area, and beyond.
