About
Founded in 1913, the "Creamery" has been an integral part of the farming tradition in the Sonoma County. Larry Peter's purchase of the Petaluma Creamery provides a facility for other local dairies to process their milk in value added products. Its revival is part of Larry Peter's dedication to providing a base for local dairy farmers to continue and develop the rich tradition and heritage of Sonoma cheese making.
Sonoma County is home to some of the world's best dairy country. The coastal salt air, fog, and mild climate all help produce great grass and healthy cows. The dairy cows are primarily pasture fed and are also supported by the dedicated animal husbandry of dairy farmers. Healthy, primarily pasture fed cows provide great, nutritious cheese full of taste. Dairy farming and cheese making have been a strong tradition in the area since the early 1800's.
It's an honor to a part of Petaluma's rich agricultural heritage which has been a source of pride and identity for generations of local residents and dairy families. 2013 celebrates the 100th anniversary of the Creamery's foundation.
We hope you'll come celebrate with us!
