About

LandPaths, established in 1996 and incorporated in 2001, is a 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to fostering a love for the land in Sonoma County.

LandPaths brings people outdoors to experience the beauty of Sonoma County, understand its value and assist in healing the land. Through these experiences, residents enhance their connections with nature and also with community, family and self. LandPaths' goal is to inspire a thriving community which acts--in both everyday and profound ways--out of care and concern for the environment.

LandPaths' flagship programs are:

(1) our free Public Outings to protected lands both public and private, with a diverse offering of over 60 hikes, paddles, wheelchair roles and stewardship projects a year, and

(2) In Our Own Backyard, a regionally recognized and locally award-winning environmental education program.

Over the last 10 years LandPaths also blazed the trail for a diversity of public access options throughout the County: the Willow Creek Permit program, volunteer patrol / trail watch, volunteer-based stewardship crews, and other means for getting people outdoors and stewarding the land in Sonoma County. LandPaths owns and manages two wildland preserves, and has management responsibilities for an additional two City Parks (Healdsburg and Santa Rosa) and a State Park (Willow Creek Addition to Sonoma Coast State Park).
